San Antonio hospital bids: University Health and UT Health

The two big public health systems in San Antonio both post solicitations on Bonfire. Here's how to get on their lists.

Updated October 22, 2026 from the BidLasso daily digest run

University Health (Bexar County Hospital District)

University Health's Vendor Program page says its Supply Chain Management team buys supplies, equipment and services, and that it uses a Bonfire procurement portal to register vendors, send notices and take bids and proposals digitally.

UT Health San Antonio

UT Health San Antonio's Competitive Bids page says it moved to the Bonfire procurement portal.

Private hospitals and big health projects

Private systems don't use public bid boards. For their buildings, the work flows through the general contractor. One early public signal: in Texas, building projects with an estimated construction cost of $50,000 or more must be registered with TDLR under the Architectural Barriers program (TABS), which lists the project and owner before construction.

BidLasso does not currently collect these health system portals automatically. Register on each portal above to get their notices directly.

Always verify on the official posting. Agencies change dates, issue addenda and cancel solicitations. BidLasso compiles public information and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any agency.

Questions

How do I bid on University Health work?

Register for free on University Health's Bonfire procurement portal and pick the NAICS codes for your business. University Health says this has been its only site for vendor registration, solicitations and proposals since January 1, 2023.

How do I bid on UT Health San Antonio work?

UT Health San Antonio lists competitive bids on its Bonfire portal under Open Public Opportunities. Free registration is required to submit. It suggests choosing 3-digit NIGP class codes for the best notices. Its Supply Chain page lists a contact for facilities and construction bids.

Do private hospitals post public bids?

Private hospital systems are not public agencies, so they don't post on public bid boards the same way. Their construction work is usually bid privately, often through the general contractor the owner hires. Watch for the GC's subcontractor bid invitations instead.
